Email marketing can be confusing and you may not even know where to begin. Don't worry, because marketing platforms make this process much easier. With many of the current software, you simply input your information and it does most of the heavy lifting. There are many platforms to select from, paid and unpaid, with various tier levels. I have included what I believe are the top five FREE email marketing platforms.
Begin putting together your contact list:
Every business has some type of contact list they use generate leads and you are no exception. You might be saying to yourself, “How in the world can I generate leads, I'm not a sales person!” Just think about the people and businesses that are closest to you. You may receive ads or calls from local businesses in your area on a weekly or monthly basis. Start with what you know, then that will begin to open up new opportunities.
Find the best time to send out your emails and the frequency:
Now that you have formulated a list, you need to determine when and how often to send out emails. Every target audience is different so it's not a one size fits all approach you should take.
To be more consistent, consider creating a schedule that will auto send at a particular time and stick to it. Remember you are building a rapport with potential customers.
Track your results:
To be more effective and strategic on how, when and the kind of marketing that produces the best result, you need to understand and track your results.
Analytics are a vital and you need to know if you should continue or discontinue certain campaigns. Also track actions that happen beyond your emails; like how many clicks to your page turn into real conversions?
