Lost Your Voice? I know What to Do!

Lost Your Voice? I know What to Do!

If you haven't yet, it is almost a guarantee that you will lose your voice if you talk for a living. On some occasions it's not even from over use, it could be because of post-nasal drip, sore throat and feeling like you're hacking up a lung.

The worst part about losing your voice is not being able to communicate effectively; and as a voice over artist that means missing out on money.

Inflammation or swelling of your vocal cords is what causes you to become horse. The swelling prevents your vocal cords from vibrating properly which leads to hoarseness and voice loss.

Of course it is never a good time to lose your voice and you want to get back to normal as quickly as possible. The best thing you can do to get your voice back is to just give it a rest. Limit your speaking and that will help to increase the recovery period then minimize your chance of aggravating your vocal cords and further.
